Miss Gay Illinois USofA Pageant Rules

  1. Miss Gay Illinois USofA contestants must be biological males at least 21 years of age and able to show proof of age with a state-issued ID, such as a driver's license or state ID card. If you do not have a state-issued ID, you will not be allowed to enter.
  2. Miss Gay Illinois USofA is open to contestants who have successfully won or placed as first alternate in a franchised preliminary pageant. Please see the Events Calendar to locate preliminary pageants in which you may compete.
  3. Miss Gay Illinois USofA contestants must reside within 30 miles of the state of Illinois at the time the pageant is held.
  4. Judging for final night will be scored using the standard USofA comparative scoring system. Any ties will be broken by the contestant with the highest talent score.
  5. Contestants will be judged in the following categories:
    • Personal Interview
    • Talent
    • Evening Gown
  6. Talent presentation will be limited to seven (7) minutes. Prop setup and removal time will be limited to a total of five (5) minutes. Presentations over seven (7) minutes will have administrative points deducted.
  7. Any type of talent presentation is acceptable except those that may cause injury to the audience or any other person. No glitter, fire, or liquids (including water) should be used in any talent presentation. No live animals (including reptiles) may be used in a talent presentation. Contestants will receive further instructions on the media format for music prior to the pageant. 
  8. The use or dispensing of illegal drugs or marijuana will not be tolerated while a contestant is participating in the Miss Gay Illinois USofA pageant. Immediate disqualification will result for those that break this rule.
  9. Any contestant that is not in the appointed place at the appointed time will lose administrative points.
  10. Any contestant or their support team, including but not limited to contestant's dancer(s), dresser(s), helper(s), hair stylist(s), makeup artist(s), who is or are caught in the act of stealing or tampering with another person's possessions will be immediately disqualified and removed from the location of the pageant.
  11. The Miss Gay Illinois USofA pageant does not discriminate against entertainers with silicone and/or the use of hormones. The use of silicone and/or hormones will not be considered by any judge in the scoring of contestants. Nudity and pasties will not be allowed by anyone (contestants, dancers, former titleholders, special entertainment, or anyone else) in any portion of the pageant.
  12. The Miss Gay Illinois USofA pageant owners reserve the right to make any decisions concerning any matters not covered by these rules and regulations.
  13. The winner of the Miss Gay Illinois USofA pageant will be required to sign a contract before any prize money is paid. Failure to sign the contract agreeing to the duties of the title will result in forfeiture of said title.
  14. Once a contestant has qualified to enter Miss Gay Illinois USofA by winning or placing as first alternate at an officially-franchised preliminary pageant, they may not enter another preliminary pageant for Miss Gay Illinois USofA in the same pageant year.
  15. Any person that has been placed on the Miss Gay Illinois USofA or USofA Pageants LLC suspended list may not compete in, judge, entertain, or host any Miss Gay Illinois USofA pageants, including but not limited to its franchised preliminary pageants.
  16. Any contestant in the top 5 not staying on stage for the entire crowning and picture-taking will forfeit their placement and any associated prize monies, if applicable.
  17. Within seven (7) days of winning the pageant, Miss Gay Illinois USofA must have and maintain an email address and mobile phone for the entire length of their reign.
  18. Any contestant who has qualified to attend Miss Gay Illinois USofA through successful placement in a preliminary pageant and fails to attend may not compete in Miss Gay Illinois USofA and its required preliminary competitions until they have paid back all preliminary prize monies, including their entry fee for the Miss Gay Illinois USofA pageant.
